    As the November elections draw near, the triumph of fact over Democratic-propelled fantasy is becoming all the more evident. On topics as diverse as national security, the economy and the legislative success of the Republican-controlled Congress, nearly all Democrat talking points are being outed for what they really are: partisan nonsense that is disconnected from reality.

    President Bush delivered another powerful speech Friday highlighting the weakness of Democrats on national security. He blasted away, saying: "Five years after 9-11, the worst attack on the American homeland in our history, Democrats offer nothing but criticism and obstruction and endless second-guessing. The party of FDR and the party of Harry Truman has become the party of cut and run."

  • ( ) Teamsters: Peru Trade Bill Bad for Workers in Both Countries

    WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Workers were undermined today when the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee members approved the Peru Free Trade Agreement.

    "While the Peru Free Trade Agreement contains important improvements, it is still nothing more than an expansion of the job-killing NAFTA model," said Teamsters General President Jim Hoffa. "I'm astounded that members of Congress would even consider passing more of these free trade agreements that workers hate.

    "Don't they understand that average wages are falling largely in part because of these unfair trade agreements?"

    No labor unions support the agreement. Corporate interests wrote all of the pending free trade agreements with Peru, Panama, Colombia and South Korea to ensure they benefit while workers don't. More>>
